Seminars held at The Institute of Women’s Health
Seminars are informal and aim to identify the principles that apply to each topic area, this is generally achieved via a slide presentation. Adequate opportunity is available to ask questions both during and at the conclusion of the presentation. Current topic areas are:

»Menopause: An introduction to the topic of menopause, what it means, when it might happen, how it can make you feel both at the transition from menstruation to menopause, and for the rest of your life.

»Deciding how to Manage your Menopause: Applying the knowledge of what the menopause is to what it might mean in general terms to you as an individual. Identifying what issues are relevant to take into account when choosing therapy options.
Wednesday 1.10.03 1-2pm: Wednesday 10.12.03 11am-12noon  

»Managing the Menopause the Natural Way: Looking at the principles of how to manage your menopause without recourse to prescribed medications. Considering the potential benefits and pitfalls of such an approach.
Wednesday 17.9.03 1-3pm: Wednesday 12.11.03 11am-1pm 

»Managing the Menopause with HRT: Focussing on the role of HRT in the management of the menopause. Why doctors recommend it, what it is, how it’s administered, how a product is selected for each individual and the risk/benefit equation.
Monday 11.8.03 10-11am: Thursday 25.9.03 1-2pm: Wednesday 22.10.03 12noon-1pm: Wednesday 3.12.03 10-11am  

»Osteoporosis: What it is, why its important for women to be aware of it, identifying how at risk you are, how to investigate yourself for it, how to minimise the risk of developing it and how to manage it should you have it!
