It is a fairly common problem for many people to have trouble
to fall and stay asleep. Women in their forties and fifties may notice
that they have sleeping problems they have not had earlier.
Especially if women have hot flushes sleeping problems are possible.
It may be helpful to check whether you can improve anything in your home
to improve your sleep. Please check whether you could try changes in your
personal environment (too loud ? temperature ok ? lights ok ?).
May be avoiding heavy meals is an option you can try in case of trouble
fallings asleep. Also, check whether drinking coffee, black tea, and
alcoholic beverages may have an impact; it may help to avoid theses in
the evenings. This measure may also help if you have hot flushes, you
may find you have less flushes after theses adjustments.
Daily exercise,if you have not started already to keep fit, may be beneficial to improve
your quality of sleep. But be careful and do not exercise late at night,
you may find that you will have trouble sleeping because of this, so timing
is crucial.
However, if you tried all this and it does not help, it may be helpful
to ask your physician whether there are any medical reasons to have
sleeping problems.
